Class Descriptions

Yoga Classes

Foundations of Yoga

This class is perfect for the beginner student or someone who wants to explore the basic foundations of Yoga (union of body, mind and spirit) within a workshop environment. We will be constructing basic postures from the ground up, supporting you with education on alignment so that you can move through your practice with ease based on your unique and individual capabilities.

Pranayama, Meditation and Asana

This class is more spiritually oriented, with an emphasis on creating an inner awareness through Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Meditation, so that we can more fully journey into the Asana (posture) section of the class with heightened interior focus.

Pacifying Vata

The Vata dosha (element of air and space) is responsible for all movements in the body and mind. When Vata becomes vitiated, the functions of the nervous system become taxed and the immune system weakens resulting in stress, fatigue, poor sleep and faulty digestion. In this class you will experience deep restoration as we slow down and move through calming meditation techniques, balancing breathing exercises and calming yoga postures.
This class is appropriate for all doshas.

Stimulating Kapha

The Kapha dosha (elements of earth and water) is responsible for all structure and fluidity found in the body and mind. When Kapha becomes vitiated, lethargy, heaviness and stagnation in sue, resulting in poor metabolism, bone and joint complications, weight gain, and depression. In this class you will experience personal invigoration as we move through strengthening yoga postures, warming breathing techniques, and stimulating yet harmonious meditation practices that will enliven you from within.

Cooling Pitta

The Pitta dosha (elements of fire and a little water) is responsible for all transformation in the body and mind. When Pitta becomes vitiated, the body is flooded with heat, resulting in fiery digestion and elimination, internal inflammation and heated emotions. In this class you will experience a cooling and calming of your inner fires, as we move slowly through supportive meditation and breathing techniques, and yoga postures that support healthy metabolism, the organs related to fire, and mental happiness.
