Roasted Seeds - Ayurvedic Snacks
6 - 8, snack serving
- 1/2 cup Pumpkin Seeds
- 1/2 cup Sunflower Seeds
(seeds can be in any desired ratio totaling 1 cup)
- 1 tsp Olive Oil or 1/2 tsp Ghee
- 1/8 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1/4 Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
- 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt or 1 tsp tamari
Heat the oil in a non-stick skillet on low to medium heat. Add pumpkin and sunflower seeds. Coat well with oil or ghee. Add powdered spices - cayenne pepper, turmeric, cumin and coriander. Coat seeds well with spices, continuously stirring in pan, until seeds are golden brown and gently popping. Add sea salt. Remove from heat and spread seeds evenly on a ceramic or glass plate to cool without sticking to each other. Allow to cool completely.
